comprehensive tailored solution for direct billers. Based on industry standards
and open architecture, BillMiner offers a feature rich, end-to-end solution
for businesses and private customers. When we designed BillMiner, we had in
mind the biller’s desire to leverage existing resources and to ensure
interoperability with existing systems. BillMiner requires no modifications
to the biller’s legacy systems or billing system. Moreover, BillMiner
can be flexibly structured in accordance with the biller system architecture
and our modular components can be integrated separately. Security and scalability
are built-in and our n-tier architecture provides billers with the ability to
select their own security mechanism and to scale according to the actual needs.

Unique Real-Time Connectivity
At LogNet, we believe
that the future of EBPP is all about displaying up-to-date account information,
in addition to monthly bills, which can be sent as a standard batch. BillMiner
provides legacy based billers with the unique ability to display their customers
real-time account status, on-demand, using a web browser. Our real-time connectivity
allows not only the retrieval of data from the legacy but also the ability to
update the legacy when paying online, ordering new services, submitting a meter
reading, etc. For billers who are not using Mainframe, BillMiner offers an on-line
connection to the database that contains billing data and account information.
This database is updated according to a pre-defined cycle. Data mining, drill
down functionality and manipulation capabilities for bill analyses are just
a few examples of the services you can offer to your customers by using our
BillMiner solution.
BillMiner consists four main modular components:
Back End Integration
Server
This module allows information to be imported or exported from the biller’s
legacy systems in virtually any mode: Offline Batches, Online, Real-Time retrieval
or updating, Relational Database or Flat Files. Data is then translated into the
Universal XML Format and sent to the application server.
Application Server
The EJB application server takes care of the business logic, including customer
notifications, automatic payments, archiving, marketing tools, data mining etc.
BillMiner supports both BEA WebLogic and IBM WebSphere EJB application servers.
BillMiner Database
The application server stores the information in a proprietary database. Database
platform can be chosen and may be MSSQL, Oracle, etc.
Presentation Server
The presentation server, which displays bill data to the customer, can be virtually
any JSP web server. It supports HTML, XML, WAP, SMS and Email Display options.
