For the performance, we've used the latest Intel® Pentium® 4 processors coupled with up to a huge 4GB of DDR-RAM and leading ServerWorks® chipset to make sure that the Altos G300 can outperform your expectations.

We also appreciate that small innovations can often make the biggest differences, and there is one little idea that we're rather proud of - the easily removable hard discs. The front of the Altos G300 is equipped with the Altos EasyStor™ removable HDD tray holding three standard IDE or SCSI hard discs that can be easily pulled out and replaced without opening up the chassis: This means that upgrading your storage is now a pleasure!

At Acer, we aren't satisfied with just offering you the latest technology, we also want to give you the tools to get ahead and stay ahead. Data security is more important than ever, but SCSI RAID is both expensive and requires complicated technology. So we offer integrated IDE-RAID as an option for easy-to-use data security. Yet for those who are upgrading from an existing server, SCSI RAID is also fully supported.

Taking a look at the longer-term investment, standard on-board gigabit-LAN and 64-bit PCI slots mean you're ready for any future expansion. Until then, you can also use your existing Fast Ethernet setup, because the Altos G300 is fully backwards compatible.

The four 64-bit PCI slots mean that your Altos G300 is just waiting for the newest PCI cards, and the 32-bit PCI slot makes sure that your existing hardware is still as useful as always. That gives you five free expansion slots, gigabit-LAN and RAID - a winning solution!

A perfect score
The team is only as good as the management, and with this in mind Acer has incorporated useful management tools and features into the Altos G300. Acer's respected ASM and EasyBUILD software packages make building and managing your solution as easy as a few clicks of the mouse.

A manager also needs the team to tell him if something is going wrong, and the Altos G300 does just that with Altos EasyDiagnostics. If a problem occurs, the external warning LED alerts you, giving you the time to find a solution. What's more, internal diagnostic LEDs record the results of the Power on Self Test performed during start up, enabling quick and easy interpretation of BIOS checks - the perfect score!
